Dedication to Local Merchants
While still in the development phase, plans clearly established that the store lots would only house merchants that were either locally-owned or native to the North Shore area, fostering a commitment to supporting invaluable, vibrant Hawai‘i businesses. To honor the historic plantation era, Hale‘iwa Store Lots has and will always be dedicated to improving the kuleana (property) in a sustainable way that is guided by the local community’s country character.
Merchants are encouraged to network with Hale‘iwa community partners and members, and build strong relationships with the residents. This partnership then reinforces the support for each merchant within the town, ultimately establishing a symbiotic relationship that is vital to longevity and historic authenticity.
Hale‘iwa Store Lots’ pays homage to the community’s culture and plantation-style charm.
